My story... They called me "Scotty". I like the name. My master calls me "Scooter".Probably because I am small and compact and get from place to place quickly.I would have preferred "Zoomer" or "Rocket" , but Scooter will do.
I was born in Shiga Prefecture. I was separated from my family soon. I lived in a glass box for about 6 months in Pet Forest, Odawara. (There's an acronym there somewhere,but...)People used to come to look at me and the other dogs, but no one wanted me. They said I looked like an old man! I'm a dog! How can I look like a man!!? The girls in the shop were kind, but I was bored. I wanted to run. I wanted to play. I tried to escape a few times, but they caught me soon as I used to slip on the slippery floor of the shop.
I had just about given up hope when...this man came with 2 dogs. One was a big Border Collie, called Shep. The other a blind, black lady-dog, called May.The man took me home with him. I had never been out of the shop since arrived as a puppy. I was scared. Everything was new. The smells. The food. My first walk, my feet hurt so much. The noises frightened me. I was 8 months old, but I had never been out before. I didn't know how to walk ,so Shep (my hero )showed me how to walk, run and go to the toilet. Slowly I got better at it, but when I went to the toilet in the house, the family got angry. I thought my name was "Scotty",not "No!" Then I thought maybe I had a name like "Scotty No" or "Scotty Nobaddog" .The other dog, May, was very kind to me and let me lick her ears. She was usually sleeping and was blind, but she never ate my dinner. There was a sparrow called "Jack" when I arrived. I thought that birds lived inside as there were so many of them in the pet shop. but this one was different. He was flying around! He speaks like a pirate all the time and likes to sit on the master's head.I can't understand him a lot of the time, but he always seems to be in a good mood. I'ts funny when he goes to the toilet on the TV,the master doesn't get angry. He never shouts "Jack ,No!"
These days I can run in the fields and sleep in the most comfortable places. I've lived here for about one year. I've learned a lot from Shep and the neighbourhood dogs.
I've decided to write a manual for Jack Russell Terriers, which you will be able to read on this site (and this site only) along with my escapades. Shep and Jack will also contribute from time to time.
